Books tend to grow in price every year. And if you started our college two years ago you may have the possibility to compare how much you spent on the books when you entered the university and how the prices have risen over these couple of years. If you paid up to 700 USD two years ago, this year you must have paid about 900 USD. Not all of us are ready to pay such high prices. There is, however, a great option which means saving at least some money, and it is buying used textbooks. Used textbooks are much cheaper than new ones and they are available both from the students living on your campus and online.
We would like to share a few tips of how to buy used textbooks and where.
The first thing you need to do before anything else is to get the list of required textbooks as soon as possible, preferably before the beginning of the semester, so that you can start looking for the used textbooks. The funds of the bookstores and online selling web sites are mostly limited. The earlier you start the better chances you have.
Secondly, do not even consider bookstores as their prices are usually very high due to obvious and objective reasons. Start searching online. The Internet is a great place to find anything, including the textbooks. There are some sites that offer auction-like way of buying textbooks, and regular ones where you will still be able to get textbooks for little money. You also need to take into considerations those international web sites, where the prices are much lower.
However, if you start shopping online you should know exactly what you need to buy. Some online sites will not allow you to return used books if they are not the ones you actually needed.
In addition, you will be using your used textbooks for the whole semester so the condition of those textbooks should be good. You would not want to be using used textbooks that simply fall apart and are unreadable.
What is more, you should double check your list with your professors in order to have the right edition. Sometimes, editions are really different from one another. Additionally, the assignments may differ. You may start lagging behind if the books are different.
And finally, do not try to buy one book for two or more people. Sometimes you and your roommate will have different selections of books and classes. Even if you have the same book required by the professor it does not mean that you do not need your personal textbook you will use in your time. Also, if you will need to highlight something or make some marks the book that will be only yours is preferable.
All in all, buying used textbooks will save you up to 50% on your book expenditures.

Education requires money, but you can easily be frugal on some of the aspects of it – like on college textbooks, for example. Those who need cheap college textbooks or cheap textbooks in general, please visit this website and find what you need at a fair price.
